I know you shouldn't judge a movie by its trailer, but when it's this good there's no way to ignore it. Such is the case of the much-anticipated and slightly dreaded reboot of the Jurassic Park series with the June 2015 release Jurassic World. I dare you to find me someone who wasn't blown away the first time they watched Steven Spielberg's original Jurassic Park. From the iconic score to the groundbreaking visuals to the heart-pounding thrills, the film was the quintessential blockbuster. So, when they announced a reboot I was a bit skeptical, but all of that went away today with the official release of the trailer. The concept set in place is really the only place they could have taken the series. The park is officially open and curiously resembles SeaWorld, splash zone seating and all. Of course, there has to be the conflict, which goes back to the roots of the series: playing God. The scientists at the park have created a new Dinosaur that begins terrorizing the park. It looks thrilling, gorgeously put together, and Chris Pratt doesn't look bad either. It's just the combination that we needed.
The reboot is set up for success with Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan joining Pratt and Planet of the Apes reboot scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver penning the screenplay.
Jurassic World will be released on June 12, 2015. Are you ready to return to the park?
